A microwave is a must-have kitchen appliance for everyone. It is fast, durable, can be used to cook, bake, and reheat pre-prepared meals. It also simplifies complicated food preparation techniques such as baking and grilling.
A microwave oven is basically divided into three categories. These categories are; solo microwave, convection microwave, and microwave cum grill.
A basic microwave is for heating and normal cooking. A microwave cum grill specializes in grilling and it comes with high metal racks for this purpose while a convection microwave can be used for baking.

Baking mode on a convection grill
A convection microwave works pretty much in the same manner as a conventional oven. You can use any container you use for normal ovens from aluminum pans to silicone wares. The only thing you need to ensure is that it is microwave safe.
The temperature settings at certain intervals. So, depending on the maker of your microwave, the temperature may look like 70°C, 80°C, 90°C or 80°C, 100° C and so on.
To make almost anything, you need to get your oven to a particular temperature first. This is called the pre-heating.
In a microwave oven, preheating takes around 5 minutes. So, you can take your time with this step.
To preheat your oven, you need to place the low rack on the turntable and close the door. After this, press convection. The default temperature for convection is usually set at 180° C.
If you need to increase or decrease the temperature of the microwave oven, all you need to do is press the increase or decrease button until it displays your desired temperature.
If you press stop or it stops for more than one minute you need to start the preheating process all over again.

How to bake a cake in a microwave oven?
Mix All Your Ingredients
The process for this is the natural process for making your cake batter. You can use the microwave to quickly melt your butter. Mix your dry ingredients in one bowl, mix your liquid ingredients in another, and whisk together until it makes a fine and fluffy batter.
Preheat Your Microwave
If your recipe requires you to preheat the oven before baking, kindly follow the steps mentioned earlier in this article. This should be done immediately before your batter is ready.
Pour the Batter into a Bakeware
This could be a microwave-safe container like silicone or aluminum pan. If it is aluminum you should grease the pan. If it’s silicone, you don’t need to, but if your recipe says, please do it.
After pouring your desired size into the bakeware, place it in the preheated microwave. Set the maximum time you want your cake to bake for on the functionality panel and press the start button.
Once the timer runs out, check to see if your cake is done baking. If it’s not, put back in the oven and set the timer again.
How to make Pizza in a microwave?
Prepare Your Pizza Base
There are two ways to do this. You can either buy from the store or prepare from scratch.
To prepare from scratch you need yeast, flour, warm water, salt, and a little bit of oil. After making the dough, flatten the piece you need, dock it with a fork and spread it on a baking plate.
A baking plate for pizza usually comes with convection microwaves. If it does not, you can always buy a microwave-safe baking plate.
Decorate with Toppings
Spread the toppings on top starting with the sauce. Follow with cheese, add other toppings, and end with the cheese again.
Preheat the Microwave
This doesn’t take much time so it can be done right before the toppings are put on top of the pizza base. The recommended preheat temperature for pizza is 200° C or as your recipe says.
