Canister Vacuum Cleaners

You have already cleaned the bases, but then there`re crevices and creases that your upright vacuum cannot get regardless of how hard you shove it in the corner. That`s where the canister vacuum cleaner comes in. Regular, upright vacuums can be intrusively loud and hard to maneuver. Canister vacuums are designed to tackle these challenges.

In simple terms, it’s a vacuum that`s easier to carry, and that’s lighter than your traditional vacuum cleaner. A canister vacuum is suitable for those typically hard to reach areas like the curtains, the blinds, and beneath the couch. It has more mobility, and the hose is easy to clean.

Many brand make handheld vacuum cleaners like Eureka Forbes, Panasonic etc. Before you make an investment, ensure to follow the points in the buying guide to make sure you make the right purchase.

Features to Consider in a Canister Vacuum Cleaner

Attachments

Canister vacuum cleaners comprise a spectrum of accessories designed to help you grapple all sorts of dust and dirt. Attachments may consist of a crevice tool, an upholstery brush to help clean furniture or drapes. An edge cleaner can also be included to help reach dirt below the cleaning head. Also, a motorized power head nozzle might help you clean carpets and pile rugs.

Suction Power

You`ll likely go for a vacuum with varying levels of suction power. You don’t want your set of opaque drapes getting sucked up your vacuum hose. If this is the case then settle for a vacuum cleaner with several suction control settings, especially if you intend to use it on other surfaces other than the floor.

Noise Levels

Though canister vacuum cleaners tend to be quieter than regular upright vacuums, they can still echo in some rooms. Some models and brands are quieter than others, so do your assignment well if noise is a crucial factor for you.

Brush Roller

A brush roller or brush agitator helps get rid of grit and dirt embedded in your carpet for easier cleanup. When going back and forth from cleaning the bare floor to your carpet, your vacuum cleaner will probably have an on/off switch to control this feature. You can turn it off if need be.

Bagged or Bagless

When selecting a vacuum cleaner, it’s good to think whether you`d prefer a model with a bag or without. A bagless canister saves you money on bags. Most canister vacuums typically have filters than only require replacing.

The benefit of bagged vacuums is that they hold more debris and dirt than bagless ones, and can also be replaced quicker. The bagged models are also good options if you have asthma or allergies.

Size and Compactness

Size is a significant factor to consider. Many canister vacuums exist in small sizes and can easily be chucked into a traveling bag or moved around your house. However, you may also encounter huge canister vacuums that will need some effort to move around, probably due to their heavyweight. Reflect upon the ease of maneuverability before settling on one.

Conclusion

Using a canister vacuum cleaner should be very convenient. If you prefer shopping by model or brand, that`s okay, but ensure you understand what the gadget will offer you in terms of specifications and features.
