Types of Washing Machines

Going to the laundry or dry cleaners every other week can be very stressful, especially when you have to spend your weekend watching a machine spin. With a washing machine in the house, washing becomes easy. You can easily manage the time you spend cleaning your clothes.

Finding a washing machine that is perfect for your household can be a little difficult as there are too many washing machine brands and models in the market.

There are many factors that weigh in while selecting a washing machine such as machine load capacity or how to clean or maintain a washing machine. Since you will be using the washing machine for a long time, you want to buy a sturdy one to avoid breakdown and high maintenance fees.

Types of Washing Machines

There are numerous types of washing machines. If you are about to get a new one, you’ll probably be confused about the kind of washing machine you should get. Below are some of the most popular types of washing machines.

Front Loading

Nothing says ‘clean’ like a front-loading washing machine. This washing machine is the best type if you don’t have a lot of space in your house. You can easily stack them up with a dryer so that it won’t take so much floor space.

Front loading washing machines generally have bigger interiors to accommodate larger items without forfeiting the cleaning capacity of the washing machine. They use less water, less soap, but they produce the best results.

Lastly, they don’t use agitators, which can shorten the lifespan of your clothes like some top-loading machines.

Top Loading

These machines are very easy to use because of their simple control panels. They have considerably shorter panels than front-loaders and significantly cheaper to buy. These machines can only be accessed through the top. So, if you are unable to bend over, a top-loading machine is the best choice for you to get.

The only problem with this type of machine is that it does not support bulky clothes or big loads. If you put too many things in the washing machine to be washed at the same time, they may not get clean. Top-loaders also have issues when it comes to getting out all of the water from the items when the clothes are spinning. What this means is that using your dryer may turn out to be a real hassle.

Top Load Impellers

Unlike traditional top-loading washing machines, these machines can be used to wash bulky items. They are also more expensive, but they are very sturdy and also considerably cheaper to maintain their traditional counterparts.

Top load impellers don’t make use of agitators. Hence, they clean better and wash and use l as water. Like front loaders, they can also be stacked to save space.

Washer Dryer Combo

This type of washing machine incorporates the washer and dryer in a single design. They are great for people with very little space and can be used even without the existence of an external air vent. They are very easy to operate and don’t require too much attention from the user. They are very good for small loads and sheets but not suitable for big or heavy loads.

Since you don’t need to move the items from one appliance to the other or one cabinet to the other, you can always wash and dry your items by pushing a few buttons. They come with temperature controls and are usually front loaders.

Conclusion

What matters when you want to buy a washing machine for personal use is how suitable it is for your home. You have to ask yourself questions like, “Do I have enough space to fit the machine in?” or “Can this machine wash all the items I need to wash daily.”

Only when you can conveniently answer these two questions should you decide to buy any type of washing machine.
