You must have heard of coins, pens and other things that should not go into your washer. In this article, we’re going to tell you about items that you never thought of cleaning in your washing machine but totally belong inside.

There are several surprising items that are washing machine safe and will save you a lot of time and effort. But before we go on, there’s a caveat: before putting any item in your washer, be certain it’s not tagged “hand wash only”.

Pillows

Have you ever feared your washer ruining your pillows? You shouldn’t, pillows are totally washing machine safe. First, you should remove the pillowcases, they are to be washed separately. Then, you should put your pillows in the washer.

It is advisable to wash two pillows at once for balance and compactness. Wash them in hot water with a cup of detergent and bleach each. Set your washer to go through two rinse cycles. To dry your pillows, set your dryer to “air” for feather-filled pillows and low heat for synthetic pillows.

Shower curtain liners

You can save a few dollars by cleaning your liners in a washing machine. Just put them in with a couple of towels to keep them from tearing. Wash in cold water with regular detergent.

Car Mats

Car mats are machine washable. They are even more suitable for machine wash when they aren’t so large and heavy. To remove tough stains, you should apply stain remover to the spots before washing. This should be done occasionally to ensure your mats don’t wear out.

Bag Packs and Gym bags

You can easily wash bags with straps in your washer. Turn the bag inside-out to keep the straps in and then place it in a mesh bag. Ensure that you empty all pockets. HandBags with jewels or metals aren’t machine washable.

Yoga mats

Yoga mats are to be washed in a delicate cycle with cold water. No detergent should be used, and you should dry them in medium heat. You only have to be certain that it’s machine washable.

Small Toys.

Your machine can save you even more time as a lot of your kids’ toys are machine washable. Toys made of silicone or plastic and some stuffed animals are suitable for machine wash. The exceptions are rubber toys, toys stuffed with beads, and battery-powered toys. Wash them on a delicate cycle in cold water.

Canvas shoes and sneakers

Before putting these footwears in a washer, you should remove the laces and place them in a mesh bag. To stop the shoes from banging the walls, you’ll need a couple of towels. You should let the shoe air dry completely after.

After use, you can easily clean your mood heads in a washer by placing them in a mesh bag. Wash on hot and hang to dry.

Place them in separate mesh bags and wash them in warm water on a regular cycle.

Oven mitts and pot holders

These items can also be cleaned in a washing machine. Just add a couple of towels, and they’ll come out sparkling clean. Hang to dry.
