Dell Inspiron 3585 Laptop (6HRY3) Review
The Dell Inspiron 15 3585 is one of Dell’s newest models that comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor. The laptop is designed in a honeycomb structure and is made with an all-round plastic casing. The slim design gives it an attractive look. The laptop is ideal for office use. You can use it to set up your workspace as a startup. It is preinstalled with the latest Windows 10 and comes with all the necessary apps you can use to send an email and do live streams.
This Dell Inspiron 3585 laptop is budget-friendly, and we will consider some of the important features of this system in this review.
Features
Connectivity
The Dell Inspiron 3585 comes with a full-size SD card reader and a USB 3.0 port on the right side of the system. The laptop has power, HDMI, Ethernet, 2 USB 3.0, and the headphones/microphone jack on the left side.
Security
This Inspiron device only has the Kensington lock as it’s security. It does not come with a fingerprint sensor like other models.
Display
The Dell Inspiron 15 laptop comes with a full HD 15.6inch display screen. The resolution of the screen is 1366x768p and will deliver very quality pictures.
Performance
The Inspiron 15 3585 works with the AMD Ryzen 3 2300U, which is combined with an integrated Vega 6, 8 GB of dual-channel RAM. The device has a memory size of 256 GB Toshiba SSD. It, however, does not use any GPUs. Though the laptop is not powerful enough for any gaming, it would do well for handling work projects. This laptop is suitable for office use and not really for entertainment.
Speakers
The two speakers on this device can be found under the palm rest at the left and right sides. The audio system is good and fairly balanced. It is not loud and does not come with a bass feature.
Battery Life
The battery has a fairly long life as it can be used for up to 7 hours before it finally shuts down. However, when running a lot of applications at the same time, the battery may not stay beyond 2 hours. The Dell Inspiron 5358 system comes with a 3-cell 42 Wh battery.
What Do We like
Affordable
The device is pocket-friendly, and you won’t have to break a bank to afford it.
Keyboard and Touchpad
The keyboard is very comfortable to use and has a very organized arrangement. Its numerical tab can be found on the right side of the keyboard. The key travel of this keyboard is 3mm.
The touchpad is a little bit on the left side of the keyboard. It has a smooth surface, and you will see the two mouse buttons which make a loud noise when you click.
What We Don’t Like
Keyboard
The keyboard does not have included a backlight to enable easy reading like other Dell models.
Temperature
The Dell Inspiron 3585 system heats after an extended period of use, even with its massive thermal throttling. The vents of the laptop are covered by half by the display hinge, which makes it heat up quickly.
Conclusion
The Dell Inspiron 3585 is not a powerful device but falls under the entry-level notebook category. We will only recommend this device for an office setup. It can handle basic work applications and can be used for video conferences.
